Fashion Prints Come Alive

on March 16, 2010 – 2:00 am

1920sWith a collection of hand-watercolor fashion prints from the 1920s French fashion magazine, Gazette du Bon Ton and an assortment of period photographs we can compare the idealistic sketches of the 1920s fashion designer and the actual 1920svisualization of his work on a paying customer. Some designer dresses appear as magnificent recreations of the artistic 1920s fashion prints, while others emerge as an incongruous masquerade costume. Most were worn by women of wealth, who although they could afford the couture ensemble, sadly their size and appearance did not do the fashion design justice. Compare images here.
