During the Victorian era, robes for private dress ranged from the lavishly decorative to the unadorned and practical. Most Victorian robes had front openings with high necklines and long sleeves. This luxurious quilted silk morning Victorian robe from the mid-1870s is the quality that would be worn by an affluent Victorian lady of leisure and the style available from the Liberty department store in London.
