Victorian Craft: Border for Curtain

A fun craft provided in an 1883 lady’s magazine features several bird motifs to be embroidered as a border on window curtains. These designs would also be appropriate as a border on hand towels or kitchen towels. The birds are to be worked in Kensington stitch, or satin stitch. The scroll-work may be in braiding or Kensington stitch, or outline stitch. Print designs here.
