SUBMISSION OF ARTICLES

Have a 19th century related business -- an unusual antique collection -- or a fabulous Victorian home? Share it with us! Victoriana Magazine welcomes writers to submit articles for review on decorating, entertaining, fashion or antiques.

For those who contribute articles to the magazine, we add links to their company’s web site within the article, plus put a full two page ad for their company or product in that month's issue. Having an advertisement in Victoriana Magazine is a unique way for you to market your site, products, books or services. Our 14,000 subscribers are fascinated with the 19th century and are looking for products that coincide with a Victorian lifestyle. Please note that Victoriana Magazine is a free online publication; therefore we do not pay our authors for their articles.

Article Length:

Maximum 3,000 words or minimum of 450. All permissions to publish are the sole responsibilities of the author. You can send the text in Word or Notepad via email. Please do not send images to our staff until your article has been approved for publication. Submitted articles are reviewed in the order they are received.

Images:

All permissions to publish, and related costs, are the sole responsibilities of the author. Images can be published with a credit line if necessary. Up to eight images per article are typically used but you may send more for our consideration. Please do not send images to our staff until your article has been approved for publication. Images should be approximately 4x6 or 6x4, at 150-300 dpi. You will notice in our past issues that we use a "full page" image in the magazine itself to introduce the article, so try to plan an image for that spot. We can do cropping and graphic design, but need something to work with.

One or two sentence brief caption is needed for each image.

Free Two-Page Ad:

When accepted for publication, provide the desired ad image and text for your two page color ad to be featured in the same issue as your article according to the following requirements:

Left page: image 4.833 x 6.486 inches at 150 dpi in .jpg extension.

Right page: text plus hyperlink to web site sent in .doc or .txt extension. Limited to 85 words. You can see the type of layout and images we use here.

Author’s Credit:

Include a few sentences of biographical information to be included at the end of the article with links to author’s web site or business. We do not recommend including an email address because of automated email harvesting by spammers, but will include one if you wish.
